Frequently Asked Questions
Fitted sheet or fitted bedsheet – is there a difference?
No. Both terms refer to the same product: a bedsheet with elastic all around that is stretched over the mattress. "Fitted sheet" is the manufacturer's term, while "fitted bedsheet" is more commonly used in retail. A bedsheet without elastic is called a flat sheet or top sheet.
Which fitted sheet fits a mattress over 25 cm high?
For mattresses 25 cm high or taller, choose a box spring or topper model. The Jersey-Elastic-Boxspring fitted sheet (0077640) has a pocket depth of 35–50 cm and fits mattresses 25–40 cm high. The Stretch terry fitted sheet (0012344) has a pocket depth of 35 cm and fits mattresses up to 27 cm. Standard fitted sheets are designed for mattresses up to approx. 25 cm.
Which fitted sheet fits a topper?
The Jersey-Elastic-Topper fitted sheet (0077641) with a pocket depth of 15–20 cm for toppers 7–12 cm high. It lies flat on the topper and does not flip over.
Are fitted sheets available in 120 × 200 cm?
Yes, in two elastic jersey qualities with a total of 44 colors – see Fitted sheets 120 x 200 cm. This intermediate width is not available in flannel or terry.
Which fitted sheet is good for heavy sweaters?
Stretch terry or fine jersey made from cotton. Terry absorbs the most moisture due to its loop structure and dries quickly, while fine jersey is smooth, breathable, and suitable year-round. Flannel fitted sheets retain heat and are not suitable for people who sweat at night.
Jersey or fine jersey – what is the difference?
Both are knitted cotton with elastic all around, elastic, and non-iron. Fine jersey is knitted more finely and is smoother, while jersey is slightly coarser and cheaper. Details can be found in the guide Jersey or fine jersey.
Which size do I need?
Choose according to mattress dimensions (width × length). Each fitted sheet covers a range: 90x190–100x200 cm for single beds, 120x200 cm for wide single beds, 140x200–160x200 cm for double beds, 180x200–200x200 cm for large double and box spring beds, and 60x120–70x140 cm for children's beds.
Does the fitted sheet slip?
No. The elastic all around pulls the sheet under the mattress. With the right pocket depth, it also remains wrinkle-free at the corners.
Can I tumble dry fitted sheets?
Yes, biberna fitted sheets are washable at 60 °C and suitable for tumble drying. The sewn-in care label is the deciding factor.
