biberna tec.tex – Technical textiles from our own production
Under biberna tec.tex, we combine our textile manufacturing expertise for demanding B2B applications. From warping and weaving to finishing, we manufacture at our Hamminkeln-Dingden site – “Made in Germany,” on modern machinery and with the experience of a third- and fourth-generation textile manufacturer.
Machinery & production steps
Warping
The process begins with warping: here, the warp beams are created that form the foundation of every fabric. Sizing and warping are precisely coordinated according to the material, construction, and subsequent intended use.
Weaving – Sulzer & Picanol
Our weaving mill operates high-performance looms from Sulzer (projectile looms) and Picanol (gripper looms). This combination allows for a wide range of weaves, widths, and fabric constructions – from fine home textile fabrics to robust technical fabrics.
Finishing & processing
During finishing, the greige fabrics acquire their final properties:
- Napping – for soft, voluminous surfaces (e.g., bouclé and flannel).
- Sanforizing – shrinkage setting to ensure dimensionally stable fabrics.
- Stenter frame – thermal fixation, drying, and precise width setting.
- Finishing roll-up – neat winding and unwinding of the finished goods.
