Flannel Bedding

Flannel bedding is a napped fabric: the raised fibres retain body heat in bed. biberna offers three qualities of flannel – Melange Flannel, Castell’s Premium Flannel and Tencel Flannel.

Melange Flannel, Premium Flannel or Tencel Flannel?

Melange Flannel was developed by biberna in 2012. It is woven from differently coloured yarns, creating its mottled appearance. Whether a set comes from biberna’s own weaving mill in Hamminkeln is indicated under “The essentials at a glance” on the product page. Premium Flannel is a slightly lighter, more affordable cotton quality with bold designs. Tencel Flannel combines lyocell with cotton and can be washed at 40°C.

Biber Flannel or Flannel – which is warmer?

Melange Flannel and Flannel provide almost the same level of warmth. The difference lies in the finer weave, mottled appearance and softer feel. Read the detailed comparison in the guide Biber Flannel or Flannel.
