Which one is right for you?
You reliably get cold and never get really warm at night. Then Melange flannel is your quality. It is fluffier and softer than classic Flannel and was developed precisely for people for whom the usual winter bedding is not enough. Take the biberna Melange Flannel Bedding (0840500) from around 49.95 €. This quality is available almost exclusively with us worldwide – we developed it ourselves.
You like a smooth, velvety surface and do not want to spend more than 30 euros. Then Nicki is the better choice. The Castell Nicki Bedding (0380746) from around 27.95 € feels soft from the very first moment – velvety and closed instead of grainy-fluffy. Those who like it solid and calm will find the same construction in Pigeon Blue (0380339).

What is often overlooked
Fabric softener is the biggest mistake. It forms a film around the fiber and takes away exactly what you bought both qualities for: the velvety surface of the Nicki and the loft of the Melange flannel. Leave it out – a short, mild dryer cycle lifts the nap or fluff significantly better. The care label of the respective item is always decisive.
The first washes look different. Brushed qualities like Melange flannel release loose excess fibers at the beginning – this is typical for the material and stops after three to five washes.
