Bed Pads & Tuck-In Underpads

A pocket sheet is a smaller sheet that is laid across the fitted sheet and tucked under the mattress on the sides. It protects exactly the area that is most heavily used and can be changed in seconds without re-dressing the entire bed. Our pocket sheets from biberna Sleep & Protect are made of waterproof ticking: absorbent cotton on top, a thin breathable membrane on the bottom, woven and finished in our own weaving mill in Hamminkeln.

Who pocket sheets are designed for

Children's beds and bedwetting: The 75x90 cm pocket sheet (0809840) fits children's and junior beds and catches nighttime accidents. Care and incontinence: The 75–90x190 cm pocket sheet (0809952) covers the entire sleeping surface of a single bed and can simply be replaced when needed, while the molton pad underneath remains in place. Guest beds and maternity care: a pocket sheet as a spare that takes up hardly any space in the washing machine.

How to combine them correctly

Pocket sheets provide targeted protection. For full-surface protection of the mattress underneath, a molton mattress protector or a waterproof pad is used. Which protection is really needed in home care is explained in the guide Mattress protection in care.

Care

Washable at 60 °C, making it hygienic even in cases of dust mite allergies. Dry gently, no fabric softener, so that the membrane remains waterproof and the cotton absorbent. More in the guide Washing and caring for mattress protectors.

Frequently asked questions

What is a pocket sheet?
A smaller sheet that is laid across the bed and tucked under the mattress on the sides. It protects the middle area from moisture and is quicker to change than a fitted sheet.

Are pocket sheets waterproof?
Yes. Our pocket sheets are made of ticking with a waterproof, breathable coating on the underside. The top side is absorbent cotton.

Which size do I need?
75x90 cm for children's and junior beds, 75–90x190 cm for single beds in care and incontinence care. The sheet should reach at least 20 cm under the mattress on both sides.

How often should a pocket sheet be changed?
Immediately if wet, otherwise with the bedding change. In care, a supply of two to three per bed is recommended.

Pocket sheet or waterproof mattress pad?
Both together are ideal: The pad permanently protects the entire mattress, while the pocket sheet catches everyday accidents and can be changed without removing the pad.
